God can do anything, right? Couldn't He speak a word and erase our problems? Why doesn't He? Matthew 19:26 says that "with God all things are possible." Does God know we need His help? Of course He does. He knows everything.
There must be a purpose for God's delay. His delay is for our good and for the good of others. His delay causes us to trust, it causes us to be patient and it gives us the motivation to seek Him. If He solved our every problem instantaneously, we would be like babies whining to Him with every little inconvenience. We would be like spoiled children unhappy with all of the blessings; they wouldn't be enough. We would never be satisfied if all God was to us was a genie in a bottle.
We must go through trials and God mustn't intervene too quickly, for experiencing trials matures us. "Consider it pure joy my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." James 1:2-5
